A MODERN PRODUCTION COMPANY
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, History Boutique Films is a full-service production company specializing in uncovering the fascinating and misunderstood, all through an edgy, whimsical lens. We have written and produced a variety of formats, from short branded content to feature-length films and multi-season series, ensuring that each project captures the imagination and curiosity of a wide audience.
Founded by director and historian Erin Derham, the company has released commercials, feature documentaries, and network series, built on hundreds of interviews conducted across four continents.
Its first feature, Buskin' Blues, screened at more than a dozen festivals and sold for worldwide distribution. Stuffed premiered at SXSW 2019, received a theatrical release, was reviewed by The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, and now streams on Amazon. The company also produced 13 episodes of Point of View: A Designer Profile for Discovery+ and Max, and has developed projects ranging from a documentary on the builders of artificial intelligence with legendary producer Mike Medavoy to a dinosaur series for Amazon.
When Hurricane Helene devastated western North Carolina in 2024, History Boutique Films turned its cameras on its own community — donating 100 percent of its services to local businesses and nonprofits rebuilding from the storm.
In 2026, the company expands into publishing under its new imprint, History Boutique Books, launching with founder Erin Derham's memoir, Confessions of a Liberal, in Fall 2026.
At History Boutique Films, we tell stories of courage, conviction, and the enduring principles of faith and liberty. Stories that entertain, illuminate, and resonate across generations.
